Famous all over the world for its sumptuous Norman Cathedral, the city of Monreale owes its birth to William II: legend has it that the Madonna appeared to him in a dream revealed the hiding place of a great treasure for the construction of a temple in his honor.

The imposing construction of 100 meters in length reveals its sumptuousness inside in the walls covered with stupendous polychrome and pure gold mosaics that culminate in the Choir with the grandiose figure of Christ Pantocrator, twelve meters high.
