THE PATH
The Itinerarium Rosaliae connects the places of the hermitage of Santa Rosalia: the Hermitage of Santo Stefano Quisquina on the Sicani Mountains in the province of Agrigento and the Sanctuary of Santa Rosalia on Monte Pellegrino in Palermo.
The route winds along paths, royal trazzere, mule tracks and disused railways, crossing for about 187 km the territories of 15 municipalities in the provinces of Palermo and Agrigento: Santo Stefano Quisquina, Bivona, Castronovo di Sicilia, Prizzi, Palazzo Adriano, Burgio, Chiusa Sclafani, Contessa Entellina, Bisacquino, Campofiorito, Corleone, Piana degli Albanesi, Altofonte, Monreale, Palermo.
The path, which can be covered in 9 stages on average of 20-26 km plus a variant, between uncontaminated environments of great value and very suggestive cultural areas with marked cultural peculiarities, interests the Archdioceses of Palermo, Monreale, of Agrigento and the Greek Albanian Eparchy of Piana degli Albanesi and crosses the following Protected Natural Areas: "Monte Cammarata", "Monte Carcaci", "Monti di Palazzo Adriano and Valle del Sosio", "Monte Genoardo and Santa Maria del Bosco" , “Bosco della Ficuzza, Rocca Busambra, Bosco del Cappelliere, Gorgo del Drago”, “Serre della Pizzuta”, “Monte Pellegrino” and the Parco dei Monti Sicani.
