Itinerarium Rosaliae

Along the Valley of the Magazzolo river, on the slopes of the Sicani mountains,
totally surrounded by greenery, stands Bivona, today known for the cultivation of fishing,
to which è  dedicated the traditional event "Bivona Fishing Festival".
Bivona boasts one of the oldest cults of Santa Rosalia of which we have certain information:
according to an ancient tradition, during an epidemic of plague, the Saint appeared to a man and ordered him to erect a church in that place to stop the plague: the miracle occurred and a few centuries later Santa Rosalia was named patron saint of Bivona.
