Itinerarium Rosaliae

The first reliable data of Santo Stefano Quisquina date back to 1729 when the town was dedicated to St. Stephen probably for the area crowned by mountains, from the Greek “STEFANOS” (crown). Located in the heart of the Sicani Mountains, the town is known in particular as a place of devotion: a few kilometers from its center stands the Hermitage of Santa Rosalia alla Quisquina, next to the suggestive cave where the Saint lived for some time.
